Bulgarian-born conductor and percussionist Georgi Videnov is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at Boston University as a Fulbright Bulgarian Leaders Fellow under the tutelage of Professor Sarah Ioannides. Georgi enjoys a multifaceted career that has taken him to some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls—from North America’s Carnegie Hall to Asia’s Suntory Hall; Europe’s Elbphilharmonie to Africa’s Accra National Theatre. Whether performing with orchestras and mixed ensembles, collaborating with composers on new repertoire, or engaging in educational activities, Georgi strives to create exceptional sounds while stimulating appreciation for the art form.
As an orchestral musician, he has completed ten seasons with the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, performing under the baton of some of the world’s finest conductors.
In addition to his performance career, Georgi has served on the faculty of Soochow University School of Music as Lecturer, and at Duke Kunshan University as Visiting Assistant Professor, where he directed the DKU Philharmonic. He holds an MM and MMA from the Yale School of Music, and a BM from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with renowned percussionist Robert van Sice.
